My name is Laurent Triolet, I am the warden of the Estagnous refuge: I succeeded Bernard Fraisse in the summer of 2007, working alongside Stéphane Amiel.
I was first an assistant warden at the En Beys refuge and then at Estagnous.
It was a question of opportunity. I had responded to an offer at En Beys and it made me want to make it my professional project. I have always been interested in the mountains and I have often had the opportunity to meet guides and wardens. The living and working environment up there is a combination of my passion for the mountains and the pleasure of hosting people around a friendly meal. It is also the pleasure of sharing my knowledge of the Valier reserve and its specificities with hikers. The sunsets from the Estagnous terrace are incredible. I recommend taking a few minutes from the summit of Valier to take a look at the last glacier of Ariège, with a special thought for our beautiful planet…
My last word would be a word of caution: prepare your outing well and don't hesitate to contact us, mountain professionals.
