What a joy it is to have restaurants reopen! We went to try out “La Grange de la Cité” with friends, a restaurant nestled in the very unusual little streets of the historic town of Saint-Lizier. First of all, the sheltered terrace is very nice with a superb view of the Pyrenees, colorful and welcoming decor. You have various choices of alcoholic or non-alcoholic drinks, tapas or the dish of the day with a dessert. We opted for the dish of the day, with an iced cherry herbal tea. Hearty and excellent dishes made with seasonal and local produce, because the restaurant owners are market gardeners first and foremost. A cuisine you won't normally experience. They also set up the Fournil de la Grange de la Cité where they make bread and pizzas with an opening onto the terrace. I highly recommend it; it's a must-see place not to be missed. Plus, on Friday and Saturday nights, they host live entertainment with wood-fired pizzas!
