Meet our Couserans artisans and creators.

For JEMA (European Days of Crafts), we invite you to Couserans, for a journey to the heart of the craft industry. And yes, Couserans is full of magnificent landscapes, but not only that... it is also a territory full of know-how, which we want to share with you!

Here is our small selection of artisan creators who will open their doors to you, from March 27 to April 2, during this European Day of Arts and Crafts.

The Art Workshop “Chez Milie”

Emilie welcomes you to her workshop to turn you into true specialists in wood pulp sculpture.

Devanture de la boutique d'art de chez Milie située dans le Couserans.

Milie's universe is full of gluttony and fantasy. She recovers everyday objects, often kitchen utensils, and gives them a second life by housing anthropomorphic animals that each tell a slightly funny story.

Located in the town of Saint-Girons, it offers modeling and painting workshops and courses, suitable for both adults and children.

Violin making workshop “Cigar Box Music”

Cédric, a music enthusiast, introduces you to his world through the history of his favorite instrument: the cigar box guitar. Have you heard of it?

Born in the United States during the second half of the 19thrd century, this instrument was one of the first instruments of many poor, but crafty musicians. They made these small, makeshift guitars with empty cigar boxes, a piece of wood for a neck, and some mosquito netting for the strings...

It opens its doors to you, to tell you even more about the historical journey as well as the manufacturing method of this unique instrument. In just a few minutes, you will be able to have an initial introduction for a visit full of new discoveries.

The Nothing to Wax Workshop

For a complete makeover! Not of you… but rather of your furniture or your little home. Which is just as important!

Sylvie shares her experience with you to give your future treasures a new lease of life. She also offers various creative activities, combining sharing, exchange, and learning these very useful tips. During the European Days of Arts and Crafts, you can learn how to make your own paint or even make your own homemade stencil and many other tricks, for a 100% DIY result!

You can visit him in his shop, located in Saint-Girons, where you will find what you are looking for to give a second life to these furnished gems from Couserans. And why not take the opportunity to bring home a small, big souvenir?

Muriel Andrin's Painting Workshop

This painter, based in the town of Saint-Girons, is a decorative painter. Between renovations of our heritage walls, trompe l'oeil, and reproductions, she will introduce you to her world, which brings her paintings to life through a range of techniques, such as glazing.

Artiste peintre

She also offers reproductions of paintings and landscapes, to take you on a journey through time, without stopping to contemplate your favorite work. The textures and the look add a unique story to her compositions, for a reproduction that is as natural as possible.

Come and meet her for this European Day of Arts and Crafts, in her workshop, open to all curious little ones who want to know more!

Chloé Préteceille's Gallery Workshop

This painter creates murals as well as decorative materials on your walls.

Drawn to the rich biodiversity of Ariège and the power of its mountains, she fell in love with the gentle hills of the Sénonais region. You'll find her studio and her works in La Bastide de Sérou, a small village a few kilometers from Saint-Girons.

For the European Days of Arts and Crafts, it opens its doors to you for the entire weekend. You can participate in an introduction to the "art of color." The principle? Paint a color wheel allowing you to create all the colors from only 3 primary colors.
