A hike to Cap du Carmil to discover a breathtaking viewpoint
The first snow has just fallen and the peaks of the Couserans are slowly being covered in their white blanket. So I'm really keen to find a hike with a view of the Pyrenees mountain range. Yes, my colleague had told me about this hike above Labastide de Sérou: Le Cap du Carmil.
Let's go !
I'm preparing my bag and my equipment, because I have a feeling the temperatures are going to be a little cooler than usual. And above all, I don't forget to take my camera with me! Very important!

I drive towards the Col de Péguere where you can already have an incredible view of the Pyrenees mountain range. You can even see Mont Valier (it's the "square" peak). It's incredible!

I begin the hike by diving into the forest, careful not to touch the branches, otherwise I'll end up like a snowman by the end of the hike. The atmosphere is simply magical with all the snow.
Once out, I turn my head to the right and there... the view is just wow

I continue on my final climb towards Cap du Carmil. It's okay, it's a fairly easy climb. A quick glance from time to time to take in the scenery and off we go again.
Okay, I'm here!!!!
A panoramic view! I wasn't expecting that! On one side, the Séronnais valley with the Toulouse plains that follow it, and on the other, the snow-covered mountains with, as a bonus, Mont Valier peeking out from its peak. It's magical and such an incredible view.

After a nice picnic, I retrace my steps through the forest below, and I feel that Mother Nature is going to give me a little gift upon my arrival. The lights begin to soften slowly, giving way to a magnificent sunset.
What more could you ask for to end this day in style!!

Note: The start of the hike to Cap du Carmil can be done at the Col de Péguère if it is open (check on highway 09, bring chains or socks just in case), but also at the Col des Marrous (longer duration of the hike).
