In winter, when the snow covers the Guzet station, there is an address that stands out for a gourmet break and a moment of total disconnection : the Chalet de Beauregard. Located in the heart of the Ariège Pyrenees, this mountain restaurant was taken over by new managers this year, and after testing their new menu for you, we can only recommend this experience!
Our adventure began with a hiking with the snow, towards the Col d'Escots, in search of this culinary gem nestled in the mountains. The trail, marked and easy to access, is perfect for an outing with family or friends. With a duration of approximately 2 hours 10 minutes round trip for an elevation gain of 239m. Each step offered us a magical spectacle: snowy panoramas breathtaking, where you immediately feel disconnected from everyday life. The beauty of the landscapes, the imposing mountains around us, brought an almost unreal serenity.

Once we arrived at the chalet, we were greeted by a breathtaking view of Mont Valier, perfect after a nice walk in the snow. But what really captivated us was the restaurant menu, which is full of g dishesourmands et comfortingFor our starter, we chose the pan-fried foie gras with roasted pears. The sweetness of the pears blended perfectly with the roundness of the foie gras, creating an irresistible harmony of flavors.

Then, we continued with an exceptional dish: the rack of pork confit with Port. The meat was tender and flavorful, and the Port sauce enhanced the whole thing, offering an explosion of flavors in the mouth. It's impossible not to mention the garbure, a traditional dish from the southwest, comforting and perfectly suited to warming up after a beautiful mountain hike.

Finally, as a true gourmand, I opted for the French toast, accompanied by caramel ice cream. A real delight! The brioche was light and airy, and the caramel ice cream added a sweet and creamy touch, just perfect.

After this feast, the urge to stay a little longer was irresistible. But it was time to leave, even if a little digestive nap on the deckchairs with view of the Pyrenees mountain range snowy would have been perfect. So, if you're looking for a place to combine hiking and culinary pleasure, the Chalet de Beauregard in Guzet is definitely theaddress not to be missed. And we promise, we'll be back, because there are still plenty of dishes to try!
