Lake Bethmale is accessible by car. In summer, you can either go through the village of Castillon and go up the Bethmale valley to park your car at the car park, or it is also possible to go through the village of Seix taking the direction of the Col de la Core to go back down into the Bethmale valley towards the lake.

Yes, it is perfectly possible to walk around Lake Bethmale. It takes about 20 minutes if you are with children, and a little less if you are not.

Swimming is prohibited because this natural site is a fishing lake.

Fishing is permitted at Lake Bethmale, provided you respect the opening seasons. If you have a fishing license, you will need to pay an additional fee. If you don't have a fishing license, you will need to purchase a day or half-day permit on-site. Equipment rental is also available on-site.

There are several hikes to do around Lake Bethmale, such as Eychelle pond, Campuls Circus, Ayes pond, the summer pastures of Bouirex but also the path leading down to the village d'AyetThe route also includes the GR10, an iconic trail crossing the entire Pyrenees.
