Idea #1: A family day
Just a stone's throw from the village of Sainte-Croix-Volvestre lies a forest unique in Europe, dating back to the Ice Age. The Royal Forest offers three hiking trails suitable for both children and adults, perfect for an outing in nature.
After enjoying a meal made with local produce at Poulpe du Lac, go explore Fabas' farm and its animals for a pure moment of sharing with the family.
To end your day, head to the Bagert viewpoint , offering breathtaking views of the Pyrenees. There you'll find a panoramic orientation table to help you identify the surrounding peaks.
Idea #2: Let's go on an adventure!
Put on your Robin Hood costume for an outdoor adventure in Betchat, on a 10-hectare archery course nestled in the heart of nature. You'll be amazed by the tranquility and the magnificent hidden viewpoints along the course.
Recharge your batteries with a traditional lunch at the Betchat bistro, where local produce takes pride of place.
In the afternoon, head to the Barjac plateau for an unobstructed view of the Pyrenees mountain range , then on to Bonrepos for a thrilling descent into the cool waters of the Couserans with the Claire nautical base.
After a day of adventures, be sure to stop by La Boussolle brewery in Taurignan-Vieux (just a stone's throw from Bonrepos). Here, you can enjoy a delicious craft beer in a warm and authentic atmosphere… and perhaps even catch a live concert! It would be a shame to miss out on a convivial evening, the kind only Couserans knows how to create. (Remember, safety first: excessive alcohol consumption is dangerous for your health, especially when driving!)
