The rules of Pétanque Flèches are practically identical to those of pétanque which is played with boules and a jack.

The differences lie in a few simple points:

- The jack in Pétanque Flèches Horizontale is a fixed point. It cannot be changed during a game.

- If it is not possible to determine which arrow of 2 opponents is closest, each opponent scores the point.

- The person or team who lost the game is the first to shoot their first arrow in the new game.

- If the arrow hits the fixed point and falls to the ground, it cannot be taken into account.

- It is possible to play Pétanque Flèches individually – in doubles or triples.

At the start of the match, the opponents define the score to be achieved and/or the duration to win the game.

The shooting distances to reach the fixed point vary from 10m to 30m for Pétanque Flèches Horizontale.

The activity can last between 2h and 3h
