Couserando Nature Hike – Mysteries of the forest

A day of hiking on the trail of the mythical animals that inhabit the forests of the Ariège Pyrenees: Capercaillie, Black Woodpecker, Brown Bear...

Couserando invites you to go on an easy to medium hike on the trail of the mythical animals that inhabit the forests of the Ariège Pyrenees: Capercaillie, Black Woodpecker, Brown Bear, Deer... We will look for clues that reveal their presence (footprints, faeces, nests, leftover meals, etc.) and learn more about the mountain forest.

- Hiking in a quality natural site
- Observation and knowledge of emblematic forest flora and fauna of the mountain
- Support from a naturalist specialist
- Provision of observation equipment

Additional Information :
For a day hike in summer, each person must bring:
- Hiking shoes, preferably high-top and already used
- Hiking pants or shorts
- T-shirt or shirt (prefer breathable materials)
- Sweater or fleece
- Rainwear (K-way type, Gore-tex jacket, poncho, etc.)
- Backpack (20-30 L, not exceeding 4 to 6 kg)
- 1,5 liters of water minimum
- Picnic and snacks (e.g. cereal bar, dried fruit, etc.)
- Sun protection: cap or hat, sunglasses, sunscreen.
