La Zampa is offering a research workshop for professional and amateur dancers based on their creation, CEINTURE DE FEU (Belt of Fire). Through guided improvisations and discussions about perceptions, we will explore the underlying themes of this creation.

The materials already explored will be shared and passed on, in order to open up a choreographic space. CEINTURE DE FEU is based on a common ground, where the domain of bodies is read in layers – physical, rhythmic, cultural – while being projected into a new territory: the space of the stage and that of other bodies.

A physical reality and a choreographic imagination
Alongside geologist Baptiste Lepillier, we are studying how these ancient foundations are still at work. Geology provides us with a context for interpretation because it allows us to connect the surface and the subsoil, the visible faults and the invisible dynamics.
Gradually, a lexicon emerges: massive or minute underground movements, fractures, folds and pressure zones, alignments and protrusions, hard or silky textures, anomalous behaviors... How these qualities coexist, erode or become more complex.

Observation and transmission as a process
Observation and transmission place dancers and spectators in a zone of listening. Thus, at the heart of choreographic relationships, the need to recognize the dance that is being presented is revealed, and with it the idea that all dance carries within it the desire to be transmitted.
MAGALI MILIAN & ROMUALD LUYDLIN / CIE LA ZAMPA
Choreographers and performers
Magali Milian began her training at the Avignon Conservatory and the CNDC in Angers. Romuald Luydlin trained in Butoh and Noh theater. Together, they practice aikido, cultivate different approaches to the body, and affirm their affinity for music. As choreographers and performers, their career is marked by diverse collaborations. They co-create small-scale pieces, group works, short films, performances, sound installations, and concert formats. La Zampa utilizes unconventional performance spaces, actively working to broaden its audiences. It forges lasting relationships, develops expertise in project management, and collaborates closely with its partners (local, regional, and national) to disseminate, raise awareness, and produce work, opening up both artistic and geographical territories. This method now
assimilated, becomes a work with the projects FROM ONE MOUNTAIN TO ANOTHER (2025-2026) and BELT OF FIRE (2027).
