As part of the 21st Troubadours Festival
“Trio El Candil” from the Middle East, the Maghreb and Andalusia
The name El Candil, common to both Castilian and Arabic, means "oil lamp" and symbolizes light and hope. Their eclectic repertoire, blending influences from the Middle East, North Africa, and Andalusia, speaks of the encounter and closeness of different cultures. El Candil takes us on journeys of exile, travel, and love.
Trio Candil:
Abdel Bouzbiba (violin, Algerian mandola, laute, vocals, percussion),
Cécilia Flamenca (flamenco guitar, vocals, percussion)
Manuel Lolo (oud, flamenco guitar, vocals, percussion)
