Transhumance in Biros

Come one, come all to accompany the herds as they ascend from Sentein (740 m) to the entrance of the cirque

Directions
From Saint-Girons: D618 towards Castillon-en-Couserans then D4 towards Sentein (alt 731 m)
Parking is available in the village of Sentein for following the herds.
Or continue straight ahead (5 km) to Bocard d'Eylie (alt 943 m). It is advisable to take this route before 9:30 am, the departure time for the herds.

Starting from the campsite, following the herds, you will walk on a paved road along the Lez for a distance of just over 5 km to the Bocard d'Eylie; then you will take the forest track (2,5 km) and follow a narrow gorge towards the Cirque de la Plagne.

The program of the day
* 9:00 am: Departure from Sentein of the herds (sheep, horses) towards the Cirque de la Plagne
* 11:30 am: Arrival at the cirque - Presentation of the summer pastures
* 12:00 PM: Welcome drink with entertainment provided by the Biroussans
* 12:30 pm: Shepherd's Platter featuring local products (reservations required) or bring your own picnic lunch
* 15:00 PM: Presentation about life in our mountains
Bring water and hiking clothes

In Sentein
* From 16:00 PM: Local farmers' market in the Naut Aran square
* 18:30 p.m.: Aperitif offered by the municipality and entertainment by the Biroussans
* From 20:00 pm: Meals made with local products (reservations required)
* 22:30 PM Dance entertainment

Elevation: 110 m
Route: 1,6 km of unpaved track
Duration: 25 mn
Refreshment bar on site
