St. Lizier

The XNUMXth century pharmacy. is located in the Hôtel-Dieu, a large XNUMXth century building.

Dating from 1764 and perfectly preserved, the Pharmacy sublimates visitors with its beauty.

The main piece is the furniture in cherry wood, an amber-toned fruit wood, entirely curved and made up of many drawers where the sisters put away the plants for the remedies, two complete collections of earthenware with blue or polychrome decoration as well as a beautiful set of mouth blown bottles. The Hôtel-Dieu Pharmacy, a former hospital, also presents a surgeon's kit with all of its instruments...

The chapel of the former Hôtel-Dieu de St-Lizier is a remarkable example of conservation. Designed by the Pedoya siblings, Ariégeois of Italian origin, (painters, sculptors, architects), the interior of this chapel is also a complete language of the "bel composto" of the 19th century Italianate.
