Couserans mountain guides

Come and discover the Couserans mountains with experienced guides on half-day or full-day hikes, on snowshoes or on foot, so opt for a themed stay with bivouac or a discovery stay in Couserans over several days.

The Couserans Mountain Accompagnators association is a group of mountain guides who offer day hikes and hiking stays throughout the French and Spanish Pyrenees and even sometimes in other French massifs.

This winter, we offer a program of snowshoeing and hiking excursions to discover the Couserans region and the Pyrenees:

- Day hikes on snowshoes "Nez au vent", every Sunday, from December 21, 2025 to March 22, 2026;
- Half-day discovery walk, during the February holidays, every Thursday at the Lers pond with Laurine and every Monday and Wednesday on Guzet with Doriane;
- Snowshoeing weekend in Couserans from February 13th to 15th, 2026;
- Snowshoeing trip to Val d'Aran from March 9 to 15, 2026;
- Other dates for day hikes or longer stays available upon request!

We offer hikes to discover the mountain environment "nose to the wind", naturalist hikes on the brown bear, large birds of prey or the Iberian ibex.

For stays in the Couserans we initially offer Couserans comfort stays, these are a selection of our most beautiful hikes in the Couserans mountains with accommodation in a hotel, guesthouse or stopover gîte. We also offer a more sporty cross-border roaming stay with accommodation in a mountain refuge or bed and breakfast or stopover gîte.

During our hikes, if you already know the Pyrenees and the Couserans, you will often find what you like: little ones
villages clinging to the mountains, herds of cows, sheep or horses with their shepherds on vast pastures, ponds, magnificent beech and fir forests, border paths steeped in history and summits sometimes easily accessible and sometimes less. You will also find the great mountain fauna; here live the bear, the chamois, the Iberian ibex, large birds of prey such as the bearded vulture, griffon and Egyptian vultures, the golden eagle and a multitude of more modest but equally interesting animals.
For those who don't yet know the Pyrenees, you will be surprised by the preserved nature. Here, no high altitude roads, just a small ski resort in the 18 valleys. You will have the pleasure of approaching and perhaps even crossing the border ridge and discovering the great diversity of the Pyrenees. And if you listen, you'll hear stories of shepherds, bears, illegal crossings and smuggling.
Far from the major sites which attract crowds of walkers and hikers, by coming to walk with us, you will be surprised by the calm and beauty of the Couserans mountains.
