The old marble quarry overlooks the valley and offers a magnificent view of the high peaks of the Castillonnais region. You'll also discover the orri, an old dry-stone shelter for shepherds. Snowshoeing is also possible.

From Castillon, take the D4 towards Sentein. Turn right, towards Balacet. The car park is a few meters before the entrance to the village on the left.

The path goes back uphill and takes you after 20 minutes to the orientation table (on the left 10 m from the path). You continue to the right along the wide path lined with low walls. Soon you will encounter the first blocks of cut marble, before arriving at the

You pass in front of the old canteen to take the path which climbs in bends. Here you are in the meadow and soon at the stone orri. 50 m further, at the intersection, you take the wide path on the left. The climb is gentle before arriving at

- Arraing pass and hut 2 h 15 1360 m (water point, sometimes dry)
You retrace your steps to go back down to the right using the red and yellow markings of the Tour du Biros. The descent is rapid to the village of

- Balacet 3 h 10 920 m

In the Ariège Pyrenees Regional Natural Park, dogs must be kept on a leash due to the presence of herds and to protect wildlife.
