This snowshoe hike offers a magnificent route over the I'lzard valley, which goes up to the Araing pond dam. Impregnable panorama of a magnificent and wild nature on the Crabère, the Maubermé, the pic de l'Har and the Mail de Bulard.
Road access: From Castillon-en-Couserans, take the D4, cross the village of Sentein, then turn a little further to the right towards Playras.
*Departure from the end of the road, at Col de Marty (TV pylon): 0h - 1083m
You go back down the road to reach the hamlet of Playras, cross it to continue the magnificent path which climbs into the soulane.
You will discover several groups of barns, some of which have been renovated. The path whose red and yellow markings lead to a track
to get to
*Col de Blazy: 1h - 1309m
The panorama is superb with the view of the Crabère, Maubermé, Mail de Bulard.
*For the return:: You can take the forest track on the north side through a beautiful beech forest which will take you back to the
*TV tower: 2h - 1083m
In the Ariège Pyrenees Regional Natural Park, dogs must be kept on a leash due to the presence of herds and to protect wildlife.
