Refuge les Estagnous

The refuge is located in the Mont Valier State Reserve, the emblematic summit of Couserans in the heart of the Regional Natural Park of the Pyrenees Ariegeoises.

Within this untouched and wild high-altitude nature, we welcome you after 4 hours of walking on the cross-border GR from the parking lot of Pla de La Lau, to the mountain refuge "les Estagnous".
As soon as you arrive, you can come and introduce yourself to the caretaker(s) and take stock of the "reception arrangements" (obviously you have reserved your overnight stay and/or your meals in advance).
After having rested while enjoying an exceptional point of view… you go through the hikers' entrance, to settle down according to the advice of the guards and finally, you don't miss dinner time! There is only one service for all, at 19:00 p.m.!
Many are the hiking routes and loops of several days. Summits, lakes and valleys offer you multiple choices without forgetting the summit of Mont Valier at 1h30 from the refuge.
