Our lord of Couserans is charismatic: his silhouette is very recognizable when you descend due south on the A64 from Toulouse. This summit will require some effort to climb… At the same time, it's worth the effort!

The climb in brief
– Cumulative elevation gain: 1900m (920-2838m)
– Difficulty: sporty
– Theoretical duration: 9h30 round trip from Maison du Valier

Hiking ideas…

  • In 2 days: Mont Valier by Ribérot and Muscadet : in a high mountain setting, where you might see chamois, marmots, bearded vultures... Les Estagnous, a guarded refuge, allows you to do the hike in two days, taking the time to admire the Ribérot valley with its waterfalls and lakes, then on the way back, the Milouga ponds and the Muscadet valley.
  • In 3 days: Aran pass : a cross-border hike through Eylie, the Arraing pond, the Refugio Amics de Montgarri, and the Estagnous!
  • In 6 days: the Tour du Valier : an experience to be had, from refuge to refuge, from lakes to peaks, sports enthusiasts will not be disappointed!
