2 days of introductory ski touring in the heart of the Pyrenees

Going ski touring is a way to recharge your batteries while exercising! It's a great way to escape everyday stress and admire the snow-covered mountains of the Couserans. Making your own tracks in the freshly fallen snow, admiring the snowy deserts, with no noise except that of the sliding skis, is simply magical.

So we suggest you spend 2 days in the heart of the Couserans mountains to discover the magic of this mountain sport.

WHERE TO SLEEP?
Settle into the Guzet resort for this weekend. There's nothing better than a chalet by the slopes for a guaranteed moment of sharing and disconnecting!
  • Chalet No. 23 with a garden furniture overlooking the valley,
  • Mrs. Franceschini's chalet with a terrace overlooking the resort,
  • The chalet de la pause de l'Ours is located at the foot of the ski slopes.

Day 1: Let's get warmed up!

To start this initiation weekend in the heart of our magnificent Guzet station, we offer you a small private lesson with a ski instructor from the ESF. The choice is yours!

It's much easier to be accompanied to learn the basics of ski touring. And it's true that for a first time, it's always better to do it near a ski resort, because you can take advantage of the groomed slopes to test your skiing skills.

Don't forget to take a little gourmet break to regain some strength. And for that, you'll find plenty of good ones places to eatr on the spot. Come on, let's help you a little:

  • For cheese lovers, we recommend heading to the Echoppe du Montagnard. You'll see the fondues there are incredible.
  • For more traditional cuisine using local produce, you can go to the Refuge restaurant.
  • And for those who want to eat quickly but efficiently, go to the Graillou restaurant.

In the afternoon, you can take advantage of it to continue practicing, or go and discover other activities in the Guzet resort.

Save some strength for tomorrow, because it's going to be awesome!

Day 2: Exploring the snow-capped peaks

We warned you, today we're taking you to the heart of the mountains. Always accompanied by your superb mountain guide if you feel it's necessary. Let's go! Direction Freychet Peak!

Don't worry, this is a superb introductory hike offering breathtaking panoramas and is quite easy. Remember to bring a picnic to eat on site to make the most of this breathtaking view.

If we can give you a little advice: Go early in the day when the sun is just starting to show its rays. It's even more incredible.

So, are you up for it?
