Conquering the snowy trails on snowshoes

For 4 days of snowshoeing in the heart of the Pyrenees.

Day 1: Snowshoeing in a remarkable natural setting

Morning : To start your vacation, we suggest heading to Lers pond for a warm-up with a short snowshoe hike around the lake. This site, known to geologists worldwide for its lherzolite (a rare igneous rock), offers a lunar-like landscape thanks to its unique rock formation.

Afternoon For this first afternoon, set off to discover the wild flora of the Couserans alongside Flora of the PeaksAgnès will guide you in discovering plants, their uses and their benefits.
On the agenda: a friendly workshop where she will share her secrets for creating delicious recipes from what nature offers. Because even in winter, our garden – or the paths surrounding it – are brimming with treasures capable of warm up your dishes and your taste buds.

Day 2: Exploring the snowy trails of the Guzet resort

Morning : After a good night's sleep in your gîte, head towards the Guzet ski resort , just a 20-minute drive from your accommodation. Once there, leave your car in the parking lot at Guzet (1500m) and set off on snowshoes towards the Col d'Escot . You'll see, the scenery is simply breathtaking… we won't say any more! And then, a delicious surprise with local flavors awaits you: Le Chalet de Beauregard . A little tip: the salted caramel crêpe is absolutely divine. Just so you know.

Afternoon : To end this day on a high note, we suggest cani-hiking. Have you heard of it? It's a fun hike that combines walking and interaction with dogs. And it's a great way to discover new trails without too much effort. "Le cœur de la meute" (The Heart of the Pack) invites you to put on your harness for a snowy outing with their whole pack.

Day 3: Relaxing day at the Aulus-les-Bains thermal baths

After exertion comes relaxation, and so today is a day of pampering at the spa town of Aulus-les-Bains . On the agenda: spa treatments, jacuzzi, massages, and simply soaking in the thermal waters of this village nestled in the heart of the mountains. For those who prefer, it's also possible to put on snowshoes and explore the trails of the Fouillet Valley , which also offers a moment of intense escape, this time surrounded by nature.

Day 4: Snowshoe hike with a truly wow-worthy view!

Today we suggest a trip to the Pic d'Estibat . This summit offers a 360-degree panoramic view of the entire Ariège Pyrenees mountain range. We highly recommend bringing a good picnic to enjoy this majestic setting once you reach the top. You won't be disappointed by the beauty of this well-deserved viewpoint.
