A week of family vacation in the heart of the Pyrenees
NESTED IN THE FOREST
Drop off your bags in one of the chalets located at the foot of the slopes.
Come and enjoy your family winter vacation in the Couserans. The first snowflakes have fallen, giving way to the magic of winter, and it's just perfect for snowball fights, snuggling up by the fire and telling each other wonderful stories, or warming up with a nice hot chocolate by the slopes, opening the shutters early in the morning and hearing only the sound of snow falling from the fir trees. Sounds like a dream, doesn't it? This is what awaits you!
Day 1: On the road, superb group!

After a few hours of driving, children shouting "how long until we get there?", traffic jams and other holiday departure hazards that we all know... you can leave all that behind you: you've finally arrived for a real holiday at the Guzet resort!
Relax and take the time to settle into your chalet!
Our suggestion: The Chalet de la Pause de L'Ours is located in the heart of the Guzet resort. You'll find shops nearby, as well as on-site dining options. With its terrace overlooking the ski resort and the Pyrenees, it's the perfect place to enjoy the family.
Treat yourself to a gourmet break with a view of the ski slopes in the restaurant "the refuge"They offer traditional cuisine, whether on the terrace or inside, made from local produce. Don't forget to take the sleds, because right next door you'll find a slope for a few runs to get your winter vacation off to a good start.
Day 2: Hit the slopes!

Morning : We drop the little ones off for a ski lesson supervised by the ESF While you're off to hit the slopes of this spectacularly scenic resort, the ESF offers courses tailored to everyone's skill level, making it a great place for little ones to get back into their stride or get a solid foundation in skiing.
Afternoon : An afternoon spent with the family on the slopes of the Prat Mataou ski area, which is the most child-friendly area. We don't promise you a few splashes to start, but a little snowball fight on the slopes and you'll soon be back on your feet!
Please note: For lunch, here are some ideas for restaurants where you can eat well nearby: We eat well in Guzet!
Day 3: Nordic Experience

Morning: We put down our skis for the day and head out for an activity like no other: dog sledding with the heart of the pack. A walk through the forest where the fir trees are covered in snow. An enchanting setting where no effort is required other than to contemplate your surroundings and enjoy the moment.
Afternoon: Sledding along the trails of the Guzet resort. There are several departure points available, but we'll give you some tips to help you choose:
- For a walk in the forest with snow-covered fir trees, head towards firefly snowshoe trail (new this season),
- And for a stroll between the snow-covered chalets, head towards the snowshoe trail loops of fountains.
Day 4: Snow sculptures and slides

Morning : Fantastic Animals Activity : On this fourth day, set off with Couserando to make animals from a raw material: snow. All the materials are provided! So let your imagination run wild. You'll also take the opportunity to discover, during the snowshoe hike, the famous strategy these animals use to survive the winter. So look carefully around you because nature is full of little hidden secrets.
Afternoon : Take the direction of Col de lattrape which has one of the longest toboggan runsIt is perfectly suited to families and children, while also offering thrills to the more adventurous. Right next door you will find the Souleillous restaurant which makes hot chocolates so comforting, just to warm everyone up after good snowy descents.
Day 5: Picturesque discovery of the village of Seix

Today, we suggest you escape to the little village of Seix. Between its castle that you can visit in the afternoon, you can take the opportunity to discover its paths overlooking the heights of the village and offering a rather spectacular view of the valley. In order to know all its little secrets, we invite you to visit our colleagues, in our tourist information office located in the village, to collect your little guide.
Day 6: Snowshoe hike to the wow viewpoints!

On this last day in our magnificent resort, put on your snowshoes and head towards the Col d'Escots. After a short passage through the forest, you will be able to see the skiers hurtling down the slopes on your right, while overlooking the entire Guzet 1400 resort. Don't worry, the skiers won't pass you by. This is a trail designed solely for snowshoeing or ski touring.
You will continue your journey towards Picou. And remember to take a look to your right because the panorama is simply incredible. Once you arrive at the Col d'Escots, a magnificent family meal awaits you at Beauregard Chalet. You'll see it's sumptuously good and beautiful too. And if we can recommend it for dessert, the salted butter crepe (homemade of course) is truly to die for! That's just between us, of course!
To get back, simply turn back. For those whose digestion is a little more complicated (we sympathize), you can take the chairlift (return at 14:00 p.m.) which will take you directly to your destination!
Day 7: We're enjoying these last moments as a family!

All good things must come to an end, but today we're suggesting you make a few stops on your way back. A great way to round off your winter vacation in style! Heading back towards the A64, there are a few villages and sites not to be missed, such as:
- The town of Saint-Lizier which is the medieval city of Couserans where you will find its cathedral as well as its Romanesque cloister, unique in the department,
- But also the village of Tourtouse whose history you can discover thanks to its interpretation trail.
- And for those who have less road, it is also possible to stop at the royal forest for a short stroll in this unique forest in Europe.
A great way to end your winter vacation in style!
For a moment of relaxation

Because it is also important to take a little time for yourself, so for a little moment alone with your other half, let yourself be surprised by the spa of the oustal which will warm your heart with its private jacuzzi, heated by a wood fire. Everything is provided for you and only for you: welcome cocktail, bathrobe, juice to refresh yourself...
We hope that you enjoyed your winter vacation in the heart of the Couserans mountains, but above all that you were able to enjoy all these great times with your family!
