Discover the landscapes of Couserans by bike!

Want to explore our valleys over 1, 2, or several days? Here are some ideas for cycling tours to do this fall. Before you begin your sporting journey, we invite you to visit the B&B at Blue Garden, in Saint Girons. In the center of Couserans, it's the ideal place to put down your suitcases and explore the winding roads of our playground.

Bike route no. 1: The Col d'Agnes

Departing from Saint-Girons, this circuit offers you a blend of breathtaking landscapes. You will climb four passes, including the Col d'Agnes, well-known to Tour de France fans. This 4-hour 6-minute loop will take you through various landscapes of the Couserans region. Take the opportunity to stop in the village of Seix, one of the must-see villages in our region. Once you have climbed the Col d'Agnes, you will descend towards the village of Massat. And on your way, you will find the courtal de Peyre Auselère, a must-see! This courtal houses several oris (it's like an igloo but made of stone), once used by shepherds. A true little corner of paradise located on the banks of the river. A great way to refresh yourself before setting off again.

And to end the day in style, you can go for a drink at Cécile's in Saint-Girons. On the menu, there's tapas, a charcuterie board, and plenty of other goodies to boost your mood.

Cycling route no. 2: Bethmale Lake

Starting from Saint-Girons, head towards Castillons-en-Couserans to begin your journey. Make a stop at Lake Bethmale, an iconic natural site in the Couserans region. A real gem if you want to take a break and recharge. After the climb towards the Core Pass, you will go back down towards Sentenac d'Oust to head towards the village of Alos. You will have the honor of passing the Catchaudégué pass which offers a remarkable view of the Haut-Salat valley! It is even more magnificent in autumn with this patchwork of colors. You will continue your circuit towards Moulis passing through the village of Alos which offers a simply incredible view!

Bike route no. 3: The greenway – Saint-Girons / Foix

Our greenway is an old railway line renovated into a cycle path. The advantage of this route is that it allows you to stroll while visiting part of the Couserans. And on top of that, the landscapes are magnificent! What more could you ask for, you might ask?

Our little tip is to leave from the town of Saint-Girons in the direction of Foix. You will pass through the village of Rimont where you can take a break to discover Combelongue Abbey. This Abbey with its Mudejar-influenced architecture will take you on a journey through its history. And for a little moment of calm and meditation, we recommend you visit the gardens labeled remarkable of this site. Enough to leave feeling well-recharged. You can stop in the village of Castelnau-Durban to discover an unmissable address in our region: The restaurant "At Victor's"This place will bring back the nostalgic memories of Sunday meals at Grandma's.

It's an ideal route to do with the family or to end your stay in a peaceful way.
