The Tourist Office is committed
The Couserans Pyrénées Tourist Office has been committed to a Tourism Quality Approach™ since 2019, to be crowned with success in 2024 with an audit validated at 96% with the firm Evolution Tourism.
The emergence of a new eco-responsible pillar in the same year justified the commitment to a CSR approach parallel to the new label Destination of Excellence, which lays the foundations.
At the end of 2023, the Tourist Office participated in theCall for Expression of Interest Green Destinations proposed by CRTL Occitanie, in partnership with ADEME and ADN Tourisme. Selected with 15 other tourist offices in Occitanie, a year of support prepares us to submit an application to obtain the certification recognized by the World Sustainable Tourism Council® (Global Sustainable Tourism Council – GSTC®), the highest body dealing with sustainable tourism at the international level.
The criteria of this label encompass all aspects of sustainable development, obtaining it will demonstrate the strong commitment of the entire destination Couserans in sustainable tourism.

Our activities
- Waste : 10L biowaste buckets in each office, meeting and team awareness of sorting ambassadors SICTOM du Couserans, paper sorting contract between the Community of Communes and the head office based in Saint-Girons, visit to the Saint-Gaudens landfill site by the CSR representative.
- Editions & flyers : multi-year magazine, quantified management of our service providers' documentation and our paper media, certified printer " Green print »
- Quality of Life and Working Conditions (QVCT) : participatory management with co-constructed action plans, teleworking, carpooling, CSE, team building days with meals and activities at our local committed partners, etc.
- Team meeting : introduction to CSR and the Green Destinations label in April 2024 via a educational presentation.
- Our events and collaborations: We lead a network of tourism service providers, raise awareness about sustainable tourism, and strive to be exemplary. We make it a point of honor to co-construct with our partners (thematic clubs, working groups, specific commissions, etc.)
- Responsible purchasing : organic cotton team polo shirts, eco-friendly household products and wholesale, …

To echo our commitment to reducing digital pollution, the Couserans Pyrénées Tourist Office team limits sending large emails, by encouraging people to consult the Brochures from our website or a travel diary Cocktrotter personalized and made to order.

All visitors to the Couserans, in the heart of the Pyrenees, are thus captured by this ecosystem. The French company, funded by the EU and the South Region, also has unique statistics to understand the flows and our tourists.
We nevertheless remain lucid, and aware that this choice to limit emails still has a significant environmental impact. All digital data requires large amounts of storage on increasingly large and energy-hungry servers.
