Day 2: Animals, nature and easy hiking with children

The Reptile Farm – a fun family visit

For this second day, we headed to the Reptile Farm, a visit that fascinates both children and parents. More than 200 species of reptiles await you there: caimans, giant tortoises, boas and many other amazing animals.
What makes this place special? Fun and educational guided tours, ideal for families, that allow you to get up close to the animals. Children will have the opportunity to pet the giant tortoises, and the bravest can even hold a boa constrictor, under the watchful eye of the keepers.

Lunch with a view – Ariège Ecogolf Restaurant

At lunchtime, head to Les Terrasses du Golf, a restaurant popular with families for its cuisine made with local produce and its remarkable view of the valley. For those who prefer a picnic outdoors, we recommend setting up at Lake Mondély, a natural site accessible by car and free of charge.

Family hike — Cap du Carmil from the Col de Péguerre

To end this second day in style, head towards the Col de Péguerre for a short hike to the Cap du Carmil. It's a 2 hour 45 minute round trip with 260m of elevation gain, and above all, an exceptional view of the Pyrenees mountain range! You can also take the opportunity to check out the orientation table to better identify the peaks directly in front of you.

Day 3: Charming village and iconic lake of the Couserans

Discovering the village of Seix with your family

For this third day, head towards the village of Seix. Upon arrival, stop by the tourist office to pick up a map of the town and set off to explore this charming village.
The youngest visitors aren't forgotten: a treasure hunt specially designed for children invites them to uncover the secrets of Seix. Louise and Gabriel will lead you on the trail of the mysteries left by their grandfather… Will you be able to solve them all as a family?

Picnic with a view at the Cautchaudégué pass

Next, head towards the Cautchaudégué pass, where a picnic table awaits you, offering a magnificent view of the Pyrenees while you enjoy a convivial moment together. You'll also find the starting point for a short hike with less than 200m of elevation gain and a walk of less than 2 hours: the "passeurs" trail.

Lake Bethmale – an unmissable family outing

And to end the day, you can take a trip to Lake Bethmale, an iconic natural site in the Couserans region. Easily accessible by car, this enchanting place is ideal for a final nature break.
A path allows you to walk around the lake in about 20 minutes, accessible to the whole family. The perfect opportunity to end your stay with a peaceful moment, between turquoise water and mountains.
