The path of the Hadas (the fairies) in Sourroque
Near Saint-Girons, the Sourroque massif is renowned for its beautiful beech forests, its trees with often curious shapes, its cliffs and its geological curiosities such as sinkholes and sinkholes.
Ce karst circuit is dotted with explanatory panels on historical and geological themes, as well as riddles. To do with the family! 1h30 round trip.
The Tourtouse trail
The particularity of this village is that it is organized around a feudal mound of which there remains, besides the 12th century dungeon, a large part of the ramparts and the remains of the early church.
This very accessible walk is punctuated by around ten interpretation panels allowing you to discover the local history and heritage. 1h15 return.

Take a walk along a landscaped trail and discover the history, uses and biological richness of this extraordinary forest.
This trail is completed by a exploration guide Published by the Ariège Pyrenees Regional Natural Park, designed as an investigation. The two protagonists of the story will reveal the secrets of this low-altitude fir forest, which is teeming with hundreds of species of mushrooms. 3 loops to choose from: 45 mins / 30 mins / 45 mins.
The Terraces of Esteiches in Seix
A short hike near the village of Seix to discover terraced fields that were cultivated not long ago. A booklet sold at the tourist office accompanies this hike. 2 hours round trip.
The Cos trail in Seix
This forest trail offers a beautiful view of the Haut-Salat valley, dominated by the majestic Mont Valier. Throughout the trail, markers provide information presented in a guide.
At its summit (Cos 1015m), a picnic area and a panoramic viewpoint indicator have been installed. An interpretive guide is available for purchase at the tourist office. The loop takes 4 to 5 hours.
The bear trainers' interpretation trail in Ercé
On the traces of bear trainers who, in the mid-19th century, went to America to seek their fortune. Stations along this route tell their story.
The Calvary site has a geological interpretation table and offers an exhibition on bear trainers. The tour continues with a visit to the village of Ercé. 3h30 return.
The Decauville to Bonac-Irazein trail
An old railway line used to transport ore extracted from the Fourcail mine , located on the Spanish side of the Orle pass. Small wagons pulled by mules ran on a narrow-gauge track. Its construction required carving into the rock and boring a series of tunnels into the mountainside . Today, the tunnels remain, along with a wide, scenic path offering magnificent views of the Orle valley. 4.5 hours.
The Ker de Massat Promenade trail
This walk will take you to the summit of Ker de Massat. This limestone rock offers a beautiful view over the valley. Riddled with caves, this site has been frequently visited throughout history. An interpretive guide is available at the Massat tourist information office. 1 hour 50 minutes.
