Baroque church which retains a Romanesque portal
In the hamlet of Saint-Lizier, the large Baroque church faces west rather than east, as is traditional. The south wall incorporates the former portal of a Romanesque church topped with a chrism. Inside, a beautiful altarpiece from the late 18th century depicts a miracle of Saint-Lizier, driving the demon from a possessed man. The sculptor skillfully captures the depth of the church thanks to the ancient architectural elements he used to compose the scene.
A little further on, in the Trein d'Ustou cemetery, there remains a Romanesque chevet and a Baroque portal, picturesque ruins of a castle chapel.
