Bishops palace

A superb setting for the collections of the Departmental Museum of Ariège, the Bishops' Palace dominates the city of Saint-Lizier. From the terraces, an exceptional point of view on the chain of the Pyrenees is offered to the contemplative gaze of the visitor.

The Bishops' Palace of Saint-Lizier has lived several lives: a symbol of religious power, then a psychiatric hospital, and today a wonderful place of memory and heritage!

With rare collections, interactive displays, and exceptional decor, it's a true journey through time. Adjacent to the palace, the magnificent Notre-Dame-de-la-Sède Cathedral, known as the "Sistine Chapel of Ariège," will dazzle you with its remarkable Renaissance paintings.

Guided tours, included with your admission ticket, are offered from April to November.
