Two regional long-distance hikes in Couserans allow you to escape from your daily life for 4 or 5 days, while soaking up the wilderness and a way of life that is sometimes idyllic and sometimes painful for its inhabitants. A first adventure, before you attempt the great crossing of the Pyrenees via the GR10 ?

The Tour du Biros regional long-distance hike

The Tour du Biros is the exceptional loop that allows you to discover hiking in an incredible natural setting, perfect with friends or family (children from 8 years and up). For the more adventurous, you can also climb to the top of the Pic du Crabère without too much difficulty, reaching a height of 2,629 m.

This regional tour is entirely signposted and follows the pastoral, mule and mining paths, in the low-mountain ranges. Sometimes quiet, sometimes steeper, and even craggy, the route crosses wild landscapes of exceptional beauty, where the raw green of the beech forests crumbles throughout the summer into splendid mosaics. The highest peaks of the Biros are outlined in magnificent panoramas along the way. Torrents and waterfalls roar through the green meadows where cows and sheep graze peacefully in the summer. Here and there, Man has left ancient scars. Its wealth, but also its suffering, has permeated the whole country. The abandoned mines are a poignant testimony of this. Rich in a formidable past where history sometimes meets legend, the Tour du Biros means teaching, meeting and discovering at every step.
