Onwards to Mont Valier ! With hearts full of enthusiasm and our impatient imaginations already miles ahead travelling through peaks and valleys with a lightness that it will surely lose as fatigue weighs down our senses. We cross the village of Arêt, where we notice the old hunting house of the barons of Bethmale and, upon a hillock on the opposite side, the ruins of the old keep of Bramevaque, surrounded by a triple fortification wall … Then, we catch sight of Samortein and Ayet, the last villages of the valley and, finally, Bethmale lake.
